"Exactly"! I like your take on that; crop to the story.
In each of the photos, there are several stories to be told.
(The people from "old Italy" and the newness of youth, within the same time period.)

They can live together and accent each other, without tearing down the other.

Nice pictures. In the 2nd picture, the young lady at the left is giving the finger. Must not be Italian. As I recall, the Italian version of the finger is: with the back-side of your fingers, rub them against the underside of your chin, with an outward thrust!

I bet that you just tried that maneuver.

I like the third image, it depicts the mood the best in my opinion.

I believe the first image has the most impact Because it includes their setting.

Well, I just wrote a reply saying I like the second and use Generative AI to get rid of the young people. Right before I hit send I viewed the image once more and I like the second as is. It's a true passing of the guard image; the old giving way to the young. The young boy ignoring the passage of time (the old folks on the bench) and engaging with the other couple across the frame. The old building standing there suggests that this has been going on for a long time. Great shot.

Walked through the city center of Todi, Italy recently and wanted to capture an image of a group of older folks enjoying the afternoon like they probably do most days. I was further away than I wanted at 55mm, but wanted to remain inconspicuous. Here is the original shot with a couple different crops. Since my focus was on the people sitting, I didn't see others entering the frame.

I like the first one the best, but its a pity you missed the top of the keystone. I think a vertical shot showing the window above the group and cropping out the storefront on the left would have been worth experimenting with.
The other two shots look overcooked or too harsh to me.
PS - I spent a week staying in a 12th C castle a couple of miles outside Todi. Todi is a great center for touring Umbria - a much overlooked and underated neighbor of Tuscany.

Taking that first photo, what is all that white and grey on the wall top left and part of that grey on the window awning, that looks like it was an attempt at covering up something in post? That door looks like a face with eyes.
