I set my R5 for single shot on a vacation trip, but now I cannot find how to put it back to continuous shooting. Any help?

Consider downloading the PDF User Manual and keeping handy for how-to reference on using the camera. You want the "Advanced User Guide", freely available from the Canon website.

After downloading the PDF, then use the text-search feature. If you search for 'continuous', you get 99 occurrences. As you follow them via find-next, eventually, you should find that 'drive mode' is what changes between between single shot and continuous. If you change the search to 'drive mode', you'll want the instructions that begin on page 450.

There seems to be some setting which is blocking my use of continuous shooting, but I cannot identify what that blockage is.

The 'continuous' topics mentioned some lens models and other factors, those may need to be reviewed.

I have used this lens on continuous shooting mode before, so it is really a big puzzle now. (Canon f4 L 24-105).

Simply push the multi-function button on the top right of the body then using the Main Dial turn it till you see the selection for continuous shooting then press the set button. Definitely should download the manual. Your camera is very advanced and there is a lot to learn to get the most enjoyment from it.

Did you go to the link I provided above. It tells you how to do it.

That same content also appears on pages 450-452 of the EOS R5 Advanced User Guide.

Call Canon (800) 652-2666 and have them walk you thru it.

I have an R6 and if it is the same go to menu, AF, then AF Operation and then set it on Servo instead of One Shot.

Clearly, the R5 was never intended for everybody. Not every buyer is going to live "happily ever after" :-(

Press the Q button, then rotate the wheel to get the 3 frame plus icon and press set.
At least on my R5. Hope this helps
