When will the next batch of the Z8 become available? If Nikon was smart, it would have continued manufacturing as it was selling off its first batch of 12,000 cameras. There really shouldn't be a waiting period for a popular camera. Let the guessing begin!
I doubt they stopped manufacturing.

Unless the Z8 and Z9 are produced on the same assembly line, which is quite possible, if not highly likely.

I’m pretty sure they’ve been making them but they’re not gonna ship until they have enough for a full shipment.

Do you really believe that Nikon purposely tries to anger their customers by not delivering products in a timely fashion? Where have you been since the pandemic started 3 years ago? Have you not heard of the world wide supply chain issues?

Jerry the Genius starts another topic by showing his total inability to comprehend business and providing information totally made up by him! Jerry, what makes you think Nikon built only 12,000 copies of the Z8? Have you not picked up on the fact that the next shipment of the Z8 is supposed to be 1st or 2nd week of June? No wonder you are the second highest topic creator on UHH, yet most are useless. Why don't you go out and use whatever cameras you do have, and make some images. It's lots more fun.

Why do Americans think they are the ONLY camera market in the world, LOL
Nikon has been CONSTANTLY supplying Z8 into different markets around the world, it hasn't stopped. North America is usually the LAST market that gets new Japanese makers' releases, AFTER Asia and EU get theirs.
Asia and EU are already getting their second Z8 shipments. The second US shipment is maybe only a week or two away, be patient.
Cheers and best to you.

Jerry, If you order a new car from a car dealership that is coming from Japan or some other country in the far East does it arrive a few days later? It could take a month or two. Does that mean that they're not still manufacturing a steady flow of new cars?
Like cars, after cameras are manufactured they still have to be crated and shipped from the country of origin and once in the United States they have to be shipped to individual dealers. And also like new cars they don't ship them one at a time as they they roll off the assembly line. They ship in batches that may run into the many thousands. When consumer products are in high demand, like the new Z8, there may be a short delay as a result. The batches are not related to manufacturing, as you suggest, but to shipping. This is nothing new. This is normal basic stuff. Are you really going to buy this camera?

All I did was ask when the next batch of Z8s might be available. Dealers used to say, "Shipping on May 25." Now, they say, "Backordered" or "Arriving soon." Car dealers usually have over a hundred cars on the lot. If you don't like one of them, you can order one and wait. There aren't a lot of choices with the Z8. You can buy the body alone or the body with a lens. If you want a customized Z8, that a totally different situation.
I ordered a Z8 from B&H, but not soon enough to get one in the first batch of deliveries.

You also said,
"If Nikon was smart, it would have continued manufacturing as it was selling off its first batch of 12,000 cameras." That was the only reason for my response.

True, but what is remarkable is the number of people on here who have no idea at all of how a manufacturing facility/program works.
