My partner just got a new mac with the Ventura operating system. Her old version of Adobe CS will not work with the new OS. The new version of Adobe Creative Cloud is $54.99 per month and over $600 annually. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting a DISCOUNTED PRICE for this software OR an ALTERNATIVE (LESS EXPENSIVE) software?

How much "power" do you need/desire?
I use Elements. Bought it once, done.
(And another older app also.)

That's for all their apps. If you just need Lightroom/Photoshop, it is still $9.99 per month

If the old system was Windows PC then a windows simulator such as Parallels might permit you to load and use the windows program on the mac.

Unfortunately, she was using the old CS4 version on a mac. Does Parallels work on mac?

The Adobe Photographers Plan includes both for $9.99.

Go to adobe.com and click on "See all Plans". What you want is the "Photography Plan"

Thank you. I will have my partner, who is a graphic artist, see if the photography version of photoshop will work for her. I have a feeling the answer is she will need the full version of photoshop.

I guess I wasn't clear. The photography package includes the complete version of Photoshop, Lightroom Classic and other programs in one package.

The Adobe Photographers Plan at $9.99 IS the full version of Photoshop and includes Lightroom and a few other useful programs...

Parallels will work on a Mac. I just installed it a couple weeks ago on a MacBook with the M1 chip. It uses Win11. Don't know if CS4 will work on Win11 since I use the current LrC/PS.

I have Dreamweaver CS4 which works on my Win10 laptop but it's a disk for Windows so it won't even think about installing on a Mac. So my HTML files are prepared on my old laptop. They don't need a lot of processing power, so the only drawback is getting the laptop out of storage when I need it. I don't see a need to update it to Win11 at this time.

I downloaded a trial version of PS Beta to look at the generative fill capabilities. The UI has some differences from the current PS. I would recommend getting used to the current version of PS first. Then you can deal with the differences later. There will be some notable differences between the current PS and CS4.

As noted frequently above, $9.99 (plus sales tax) a month (there is an annual plan also), which includes LR, LrC, and PS. If you only use PS, it's still a bargain.

As far as I know, there is only one version of PS, and it's the full thing.
