This would be the first time ever taking photographs of this type of subjects. I have no clue as to how or what I should have done but I tried. Critiques are welcome but I know they will be about how poorly done these are. Advice is highly wanted if anyone could help out! Thanks.

I don't know about anyone else but i am as happy as a pig in slop.! the f-4 phantom shots were especialy nice the one shot of the front i really liked. there is something sexy about the ol f-4. the shot of the tank treads and wheels from an angeled view is also lovely. the only sugestion I have is to get detail shots like the tank tread one . cant wait to see the photos from the railroad yard.

That's not moisture, it's decaying aircraft glass, this was one that they have untouched completely. All the other's have had the glasses replaced and basically been gutted, this one has all the gear and so fourth still in it.

All of these big boy toys are only the a small portion of what could have been seen, we showed up after hours when it was empty to take these shots as these are the only ones that stay outdoors so we didn't get to go into the building.

I finally got around to viewing your shots, Mr. Williams. There are too many to comment on individually, but the one thing I feel would make many of the compositions better would have been to drop your camera down a good bit, lose most of that empty sky, let me see more of the ground in front of the subjects, giving me more of a feeling of depth. Super great subject matter, though. Thanks for the invite. Appreciate your love of photography, which is obvious.

Did they make Forbes Field into a museum?
It seems to have a good collection of things.
Airplanes are hard subjects to shot on the ground (no pun).

Thanks, I agree with the compositions in matter, however it's kind of limited on ground space, not much room to move around as this is placed on military grounds and one false step on the wrong grounds I'd have to deal with something I don't have a chance of dealing with... We had the military police watching every move we made out there because of it being after hours...

No, the actual military base is still there, but locked down behind electrical fence, you have to get military permission as well as an assigned code. I have security clearance so I can get in there if I really wanted to, most of the stuff seen here is from WWII and others. 2 of the tanks if you noticed are actually bring backs from Desert Storm, I think that's where they said???

yes the dark mustuard colored tanks are actually soviet made anti aircraft vehicles zsu-23's i believe but could be wrong. the irony is the tank wheel and suspension system is a descendant of an american desighn that the designer before ww2 sold to the soviets when the us war department wasn't interested. the ruskies put the new system into the t-34 the tank that saved their buts. this wheel and track system was superior to what we had on the sherman, our main battle tank.

Awesome, that sound about right! Thanks for the info!!! I couldn't have remembered all of that lol, I only read it on the information pole. But what you have said is a smaller version of what was said on it...

I thought you did very well. The only comment I would make would be to use a little post-processing to bring up the shadow details just a little.

I was distracted by the title of the Set, because there is also a Combat Air Museum in Topeka, not the one that you detailed. My photos of it are located on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/8712554@N02/sets/72157631809879215/
