This picture may not represent Vertigo as it occurs. I chose this one to post as for the past week on lying down and getting up, I had vertigo. Not a great feeling. Then I made it worse when I did some exercises to prevent it. Last night and this morning I had no effect from it. Time will tell.

You will need a pair of anaglyph glasses to view it in 3D.

I had had a stroke.
Vertigo didn't look like that to me, tho.
I'd just fall over. Literally. Fast turns, stops and starts- thump.
I tried Epley- doc said sometimes it works wonders.
Every time I tried, THEN I'd get the vertigo like that picure.
For about four hours,
*sigh*
Did you see the movie "Riddick"? where the bad guy moves- and then his other self catches up?
That's me these days. I have that 2 second hesitation- and then I'm good.
I can walk a few miles in a straight line. A couple fast turns in the kitchen and I'm hanging onto something.

I have not seen Riddick.
The first time I had vertigo was in March 2011. At that time I was referred to a Physical Therapist who works with vertigo patients. She used the previous method on me and said I should sleep on my left side for two nights and not too look down or up during the day. It was easy for her to use a flat table-like structure that your head would hang over the end of during the movements of the head. She would have me set up between the left and right head adjustments. This one visit eliminated the vertigo. If I get it I just try the movements myself.

I’ve head a Vertigo episodes in the past, Gaylord! Luckily, I was helped by a wonderful therapist. After a successful session with her, she told me that it was very important to maximally restrict movements of my head up and down and look straight ahead for at list 12 hrs. Means, you have to only stand or sit upright comfortably, preferably in an arm chair, wear an airplane neck support ring (cushion?), putting it under your chin, so that your head does not “nod”. Hope, you feel better!

also, medically, many of us who have collected extensive amounts of experience points can get TIAs. Mini strokes. The "mini" label is at the perspective of your Insurance- paid doctor. Mine was- I couldn't walk a straight line up the stairs unassisted anymore. I had to hold the railing- then no problem. Otherwise I'd bounce into it.
They say most people get over them- that means you acclimate and adjust, but are still qualified to work. As an IT Tech, that meant I was still fully capable and I was in no danger to myself or others, so no recorded diagnosis either. Whacky advice as to prevention, that's it.
