The secret to longevity is having fun, a good humor, laughing at yourself and others. Bob Hope and George Burns died at 100, Mort Sahl, Milton Berle, and Sid Caesar all lived into their 90s.

Different times...the WW2 crowd was in charge...and they were cool as heck.

My friends and I were constructing a small bomb tin my room to blow up outside.

Dad walked in...looked at us...looked at the explosives we had gathered...

What are you doing?
We're trying to make a bomb to blow up.

Dad looks at what we had...shook his head.

That's not how you do it...let me show you some tips.

Two hours later we all went in the backyard and blew two bombs off...

Different times...better times.

I believe I saw that notice. And he did have a fantastic sense of humor and the outre. Sergio Aragones was my top favorite.

Al certainly appreciated the art of the comic and the bizzare. I loved the various motif send ups, making MAD a mirror of the times.

Without “Mad” and “National Lampoon,” the 60s and 70s would’ve not been half as fun.

Turned upside down it was still 1961...

Mad Mag was not allowed in my house and suffice to say neither was Cracked.

My parents also thought Leave it to Beaver put the parents in a bad light. Looking back, I think Ward and June were pretty cool. I think MAD tickled the gray cells. You had to be on top of things to understand the sarcastic humor. I can pick out any number of posters on UHH and say...."didn't read MAD as a child."

Read both MAD and National Lampoon in the '60s. The woke crowd would go berserk today.

Mad was great. But I liked R. Crumb even more. Mr. Natural, Flakey Foont and company.

There was a story about a guy submitting a school report about raising hogs. Every year was the same report with better grammar all this till his post-graduation report. it was the most hilarious I ever read.

I had a few of the Snappy Answers books, my Mom used to tell me I didn't need a training manual because I was already way to sarcastic.

And if you read Mad and the other magazines, didn't you have to also read Analog?

A high school classmate was accused of looking like Alfred E. Newman. It was true.
