This composite is made from shots around our village, Connie from a group shoot, various paint brushes from Ps plus some filters from Ps and textures of my own. It is my first attempt to create something influenced by the paintings of Gustave Moreau, an artist that never published his work, he simply wasn't known until after his death.
Needless to say, I haven't got there yet but it's encouraged me enough to keep trying. Please critique if you would like to, I appreciate it.

My usual ‘pre-Raphaelite’ look doesn’t lend itself to this type of finish really, whereas Moreau was much freer. Both styles used layers but pre-Raphaelites ached for reality in the end result. I might get used to this Moreau fellow! Glad you like it Linda.

Another astute use of softness. Let's hope she's not the queen's handmaiden sent out to collect some laburnum seeds (we all know what they can be used for...).

Thanks RG. I think the whole thing is poisonous. Wouldn’t catch me playing with it!

I googled Gustave Moreau's images, very classic style. Your image is very detailed I was impressed by the small flowers bottom right of the door way!! Great work of love of labor magnetoman

Thanks Don. The flowers were on top of a low wall in front of the laburnham tree. They are the sort of detail that GM might have included (and the pre-Raphaelites would have done similar too). Glad you noticed and enjoyed them. Did you get to see his studio when you searched - I’d love to visit that (in Paris), wish I’d been interested in the days when I did visit that wonderful city.
