I'm not sure where you got your law degree, or how many cases you've worked, but my wife has handled a good many whistleblower and Qui Tam retaliation cases over the years, & she says that every one of these people fall well into the legal definition, as well as US Government employee guidelines, to be whistle blowers.

That's okay. Maybe others' memories are better than yours. Suffice to say that, while learned and expertise, your wife (or you) hasn't always been right. It's still an opinion. The actual outcomes are more relevant and in the case of these whistleblowers, it's whether they have Whistleblower protection or not. They do not; their terminations or suspensions from the FBI are for serious breaches in protocols and behaviors.
To be classified as protected whistleblowers, they must officially apply for the status and must also legitimately attempt to make what’s known as a protected disclosure of serious misconduct or criminal wrongdoing — usually described as waste, fraud or abuse. I've not seen any evidence that these witnesses have done these things.
