Police respond after the crime...

As the saying goes...

'When seconds count, the police are only minutes away'

Good job by an alert brother.
Families need the proper tools to protect themselves during a crime. Police respond after the crime.I would prefer to have the proper tools and not need them, then to need them and not have them. The bad guys don't abide by the laws.

People forget they are responsable for their own safety. Cops are not obligated to protect you. There have been court cases over the issue. They just show up, might catch the perp, might prosecute, might incarcerate. Perp has more rights than the victim. Remember if you are the winner in an altercation with the perp you are automatically the vllian especially if you have weapon or skill superiority.

Maybe the local cops could contribute and administer the fund - then give him some SWAT sniper training.

Great story. I am sure the governor in MI will soon require a registration for sling shots and limit the age of the shooter.

I suppose the perp should also be glad the kid wasn't into archery.

A professor once calculated(guessed) that is wasn't until WW II that all other weapons combined caught up to the arrow for total people and animals killed. And he stated "I might be wrong, the arrow may still be ahead."
