My friend races motorcycles. In the first photo he is about to head out onto the track for his first race of the day. The second shot is some on track action. He finished second.
Motorcycle racing is fun to watch, these are great images. Those guys are a little crazy.

Thank you W9OD. Watching them go into a turn at high speed with one knee dragging the ground and very little tire rubber making contact is scary.

Think that's scary one just needs to watch the big boys sliding those bikes in the turns.

I know. I've been to the motorcycle races at Daytona where the straightaway speed approaches 200 mph going into the first turn.
You have some great shots. I used to do volunteer on-track medical. I saw anywhere from the world GP at Laguna Seca down to the local amateur level at Sears Point (now Infineon). It used to send shivers up my back when I heard the knee pads scraping (and I used to ride a Gold Wing). Those people are not just a little crazy, I think they are insane. I got to know the American Honda crew and a rider named Miguel DuHammel. He either finished in the top 3 or he crashed!.

I remember seeing DuHammel on television when some of the races were broadcast.
The way I got to meet Miguel is that there was a gal in our medical group (National Motorcycle Patrol) that was married to the American Honda team crew chief. Miguel was quite a rider. His father was a racer too - Ivan DuHammel from years past.
Maybe 50 years ago but not today! Good set of images Stash.
