They're giving us more info now. It looks like 6TB drives are proving more reliable than other sizes.

None of my drives are on the list, or any list.
Oh, wait, they're old...

I imagine some year I'll need new/more drives.

Also the larger drives from Western Digital look pretty good in the lifetime failure rate.

I do like WD drives, especially the Gold, my preferred drive.

So what is the best setup to use 2 of those recommended by backblaze to backup photos. i wish they tested external drives.

A drive is a drive is a drive. External drives only live in a small outboard housing whose potential failure might be the power supply in the housing. The only real difference is the other potential of dropping or hitting the case which doesn't occur with internal drives.

You might as well for all of them to fail and then buy all new ones - and start with all new data!
