FLW was quite an architect, though it seems his structural capabilities failed him on several occasions. IMO

…I agree…especially when you are trying to push the limits…like a flat roof in Chicago…? However, with it came some extraordinary results…!!!

I have been to many of FLW houses and the Johnson wax building. My Husband and I own an architectural/ engineering company and we love the mission style. My favorite FLW house is the House of Falling Water. We got to stay in one of his homes for a weekend. It was amazing.

That’s very interesting about your company. I’m also a fan of the mission style as I’m in Southern California. Someday my wife and would love to visit the House of Falling Water also. We did see the Biltmore in Arizona that he designed but just from the outside.

FYI Wright’s oeuvre would not include anything remotely considered Mission Style. See USC or Stanford University for examples of what is considered Mission Style.

FLW's style is also referred to as Prairie style. But mission style is commonly referred to as FLW's style.

Mr Wright’s work, by what ever name, was revolutionary. He had a unique aesthetic and was a character - not always in a good way.
