Watering The Golf Course

It was a very windy morning at our house with a heavy overcast of clouds. The golf course maintenance crew had just turned on a few of the "big gun" sprinklers, but nothing was spectacular. Then the sun poked through to illuminate the water. That's when I ran for my camera.

And there we are, wasting water for the benefit of a few.

This will may make a splash in the gallery (folks are crazy that way). But in the main photographic area? It's a dud.

By the way, where are the menacing clouds?

They use reclaimed waste water. The clouds were not menacing, just heavy overcast. So my post is a dud before it even gets started. Now that hurts.

Sorry about the dud reaction. I did get the post in the wrong section.

That's not a cardinal sin. It happens all of the time and it is remedied automatically by Admin without the need of any sarcastic intervention from the self-appointed hall monitor.

There is nothing wrong with the images.

Most golf courses don't use regular drinking water as cost would be prohibitive. Nice shots, too bad a rainbow didn't pop up to seal the deal.

Another reason I only come here to visit, not post photos. No need to get all "holy camera, Batman" over someone else's pictures. That person shot what they considered interesting...but then, I don't sit in my porch rocker and complain about the world passing me by!

I like the middle one the best but all great shots. The spray in the middle one is perfect. Love the 3 dimension in the photos water then spray and sky. Great composition. The last one has nice balance.

Water is water is water? In my area of the country we get our water from reservoirs. It is treated to get culinary water. A few Years ago I was asked as part of a survey if I was will go give up my water for my garden so they could have more water for the golf courses. Consider me selfish but I would rather grow my own food than to supply water for someone to chase a ball around a few links.
