The big change is in the people of America . Now the general attitude is " Lie cheat and steal if it benefits one's self ". And , crime and violence is at an all time high and some approve of it .

I agree with you except for the pop or coke bottles. They were 2 cents when we collected them. It took 3 to get a Hershey bar and a piece of penny candy. Lol
None of the kids in my neighborhood had the money for coke when we were young, so we didn't have any bottles to redeem.
The town where I was raised had a volunteer Fire Department and at 9PM the horn would blast twice. That was the signal to hightail it back home. If we weren't there by 9:05, my dad would yell my name loudly and I knew I had better put it in high gear.
We did all the other things listed. We certainly didn't appreciate how great our childhoods were. I'll miss us when we are all gone.
With a bit of the Silent Generation in us that appears to have ended here.
