What a joke (a really, really bad one)! Asylum Laws are being totally abused and everyone with a brain knows it. The vast majority of so-called asylum seekers are here for economic opportunities (as polling them has demonstrated) not fleeing violence (that is probably not much different than our urban areas). However, they are well coached on both sides of the border by immigrant advocates. Releasing them into the country is basically telling them welcome, your here to stay as Democratic Congressman Henry Cuellar testified that immigrants given a notice to appear today will not have their first appearance for 10 years!

And regarding children the Customs and Border Protection has reported that the number of unaccompanied minors has risen from 33,239 in 2020 to 146,000 in FY 2021, 152,000 FY 2022 and over 70,000 this yeas to date (a 430-500% increase each year since Biden/Mayorkis regime). Whistleblower Tara Lee Rodas testified before congress and the New York Times reported tens of thousands are turned over to cartel labor contractors where they are forced into child labor. Mayorkis, while testifying said he did not have knowledge of the 85,000 children who can’t be contacted. So you, Frank and other defenders of an indefensible position should leave your political allegiance at the door and look at the facts on the ground. Just wait until Title 42 expires!

Well, here we go again!!! Now we have 5 people killed, including an 8-y old girl, by a nutcase with an AR-15 in Cleveland, TX, because a neighbour told the jerk to stop shooting the weapon in his front yard!!!!!

Mental health issue? ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!

Does the AR-15 factor in? ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!! Had he been shooting a pistol the neighbour victim may not have objected. And perhaps the sicko with the AR-15 would not have felt as macho had he been using a handgun. Maybe. Not sure... but maybe.

Gun lovers argue that more laws won't help. Anyone know if it might have been illegal to fire that weapon in his front yard? If there is no law, there certainly could/should be one.

Surely reasonable people MUST be asking themselves, "When will this insanity and love affair with such weapons stop?"

Texas has a lot of laws governing the shooting of firearms on your own property. However, without knowing the size and location of this incident, I really can't tell you if it was allowed in this instance.
However, I can say that looking at the satellite images of Cleveland Texas, it looks like a densely populated area and I would suspect he was in violation.
All of that pales when he committed a mass murder of his neighbors, so does it really matter if he could target shoot or not?

You are correct, it does not matter whether there was a law about shooting on his front yard. I was just trying to get ahead of the "there are already 25,000 gun laws on the books..." crowd.

From what has been reported about this shooting so far, this guy shot everyone in the head.... with an AR-15. People should know by now what that means exactly..... their heads blew up as if someone hit a watermelon with a baseball bat.

I don't see this as "mental health"... I see it as a stance that claims "I'm Mr. Macho and I can do anything I feel like doing". The Extremist Republican mantra of today.

And, drinking and guns don't mix but, we don't want to take AR-15s off the street. It's only time before this happens to someone YOU know or someone YOU love.

Don't expect this to gather much media attention as more information becomes available. The suspect is a Mexican National, that has been deported twice. This will not fit the media's agenda.

I don’t know the reporting as I gave the news a break and went mountain biking today but if Boos is right and they were all head shots then he was probably at very close (if not point blank) and could have had the same outcome with any caliber but you did get the insanely part right.

Gee, I wonder where the good guy with a gun was while these innocent people were being slaughtered. Our country has been the victim of the NRA and the Republican politicians supported by the NRA for at least three decades. The NRA and gun manufacturers have spread self-serving propaganda that guns should be easily attainable by "good guys" without the resulting truth that they were also making guns more available to "bad guys", criminals, disturbed teenagers, people suffering mental health crises, etc. As a result, everyone living in America could be a victim of gun violence at any moment. Thank you, Republican Party, NRA, gun manufacturers and gun lovers of America. Just keep in mind that your loved one could be next and there probably will not be an imaginary "good guy with a gun" to protect them.
