Everything beyond 600mm is digital zoom and by the time you get to 4x the IQ is the pits!! CIZ (Clear Image Zoom, 2x) is not too bad but still not great. I've found Topaz's GigaPixel is just as good or better.

Yes, but CIZ is FREE and FAST.

Will Topaz Gigapixel clear any of the small blur caused by CIZ?

I have never used Topaz ......?? ....only CIZ and adobe's bicubic smoother in 10% increments.

I am a Fuji equipment fan and own the XT-3, The 18-55 kit lens, the 50 -140, and the 100-400 plus the 1.4 tc. I was considering upgrading to the the XT-5 to improve the auto focus.
Well, as I get up there in years, I leave for Costa Rica only with my Panasonic FZ1000 bridge camera.
I have been considering the Sony DSC RX 10 IV and would like to hear from people who have experienced this camera.
All advice will be appreciated, thank you.

I have the FZ1000 MII, and it is the best camera I have ever owned....The RX10 MIV is also a great camera, but budget restraints did not allow me to get it(Twice as much as the FZ...) Very satisfied with my FZ.

Thank you all for the discussions which convinced me to again try the CIZ on my LUMIX ZS200. It is really better than I gave it credit for being. Wonderful little camera. Just always want more zoom ( a real fault).

Lumix does NOT have CIZ - it is unique to SONY - but their are other similar forms on other cameras I am sure - CIZ is AI pixel enlargement.

Who knows if there will ever be an RX10V. The camera is quite mature and complete.

It is ironic that the people who would most appreciate it cannot afford it and the people that could easily afford it and are invested in other stuff turn their nose up at the RX10 .......

I am a hobbyist and a long ways away from an expert. I also own a Fuji (X-T4) along with several other cameras, both DSLR's and mirrorless. All of them have their good points and not so good points and all are capable of nice images, but the camera that I use the majority of the time is my RX10IV. That camera is amazing in my mind. One Zeiss lens that zooms 24-600mm, mechanical and electronic shutters, in camera flash, easy to carry and takes beautiful pictures in both color and B&W when the operator uses it the way it should be used. If I could only own one camera this one is it hands down.

I could easily afford it and DEFINITELY don't turn my nose up at it. But I also have an A7S, A7 III, A7R V, A6000 and have had several other Sony APS and full frame cameras over the past two decades.
