I'm halfway through watching "Dalgliesh" on AcornTV. It's an English mystery series based on the books of P. D. James. It's very well written and acted. It's worth taking a look if only to see the detective driving his Jaguar E-Type coupe, V12. What a beautiful car! His sergeant drives a Capri. I had an E-Type and a Capri at one time.
Many of the characters are in wheelchairs at a "facility." I was surprised to learn that those actors actually need wheelchairs. One thing about being an actor in England: once you get in the loop, you have a job forever. I watch a lot of English TV, and I keep seeing the same actors playing different roles.
Good to know. Since you have Acorn, I think you can watch the old "I Claudius" series. I had recently been viewing them again on DVD, and they still hold up!
Jerry, you have probably seen it already, but if not, try Murdoch Mysteries. It is a period piece series about a Toronto detective at the turn of the century. Dozens of episodes. And Murdoch, who is interested in all things science, often invents objects that presage modern technology. We really like the show and are still watching current episodes.

I remember the first Claudius series years ago with Derek Jacobi. No interest in that!
Dalgliesh looks like a great series. Thanks for posting. Back in the day, I owned 2 1969 E-Types = roadster and 2+2. The V12 was an awesome motor but I never really liked the styling of the E-Type with the fender flares. However, it does look pretty great in this series. I currently own an ‘04 XK8 roadster with the V8. Since Ford acquired Jaguar about the time when the V8 appeared, many mistakenly believe it’s a Ford motor. However, Jag did develop the V8 and, in fact, Ford borrowed it for the Lincoln LS and Thunderbird.

I recently rewatched the "I, Claudius" series on Acorn. Sorry to say, Jerry, but you just dropped ten points in my opinion of you. Sorry.
I also watch the "Murdock Mysteries" on Acorn. When I finish Murdock I will probably drop Acorn. Getting rid of some of my subscription services.

Is it the coupe, one of the most beautiful cars ever made? Or is it the 2+2, an eyesore that ruined the magnificent coupe?

Does anyone know where you can get (watch or buy) the original “Prime Suspect” series with Helen Mirren?
BBC Shop doesn’t have it.

We watched it last year on BritBox.

I had a '67 coupe...or fixed head coupe as the Brits say. I hated the 2+2 because they raised the roof for the rear passengers, I always thought it looked like a duck.

I read a while back that with the V8 due for an update Jaguar saved development costs that would have been several hundred million dollars by buying a V8 from BMW.

That was an excellent series. We met Helen while waiting to get into a Broadway play. She was entering through the crew's door, and I told her how much I liked Prime Suspect. She seemed to appreciate that.
