My LCD Panel stays on even when the camera is turned off. Only way to close panel is to remove the battery. I just ran the "Reset Camera" in the Tool menu option but it made no difference. I'm preparing to update the firmware from version 1.4.0 to 1.8.1 to see if that makes a difference.
Totally normal. Mine does same thing even with latest firmware.
Thank you. I did the 8.1.1 firmware update. Still the same. Thanks for your reassurance. :-)

I have a camera trigger like that. The receiver can be turned off, but the trigger, no.
That’s a normal function with the R5. I like it because it lets me know at a quick glance if there’s a battery installed as I take the camera from its case. It probably also helps speed start up
That display takes almost no energy to maintain and lets you know the mode of the camera at all times. LCD displays of that type will take many months to have any noticable effect on the battery level of charge. I like it because, there is no marked mode dial. When I pick up the R5 I see it and know where to go from there.
Probably takes less energy than a Casio watch display. I like being able to see what mode I’m in before even turning the camera on.
