Earlier I asked about a new monitor for a new computer and was given good advice by many. A few asked what I wound up with, and here's the answer:

Mac Studio, M1 chip, 32 g memory, and a 2T drive.
BenQ PD2705UA Monitor

Thanks, all, for your assistance.

My last Apple computer was an Apple IIe.

But, I bought a Mac Studio (M1 Max, 32 gb memory, 2gb SSD) in December, and do love it - handles all thrown at it, and haven't looked back. Loved it enough that I needed to replace my old Lenovo laptop (found that it didn't like to process the new denoise feature in Lightroom) - and got a refurbished MacBook Air M2 this past week with my income tax refund!

Are you telling us the truth? You don't have any computer in between the Apple IIe and the Mac Studio?

It is the truth! I had no APPLE computer after the Apple IIe and the Studio (well - one before the IIe).

Now I did have a very LARGE number of MS DOS and other Microsoft desktops and laptops too numerous to count between then !!!

Ah thanks! I should have read more carefully. You said your last Apple computer was the Apple IIe. I thought you said your last computer was the Apple IIe.
