The young lady, Elspeth, turned-up at a 'knights and horses' shoot. Her mount was really quite stunning but rather new to all the charging about in a muddy field and ended-up falling over. Fortunately both horse and rider were fine and stayed until the end of the shoot. I thought Elspeth looked quite mysterious in her hooded cloak, designed to hide her riding helmet. Here, they are composited into a background local to me, Agglestone Rock which lies on a bit of raised ground in the middle of Purbeck's Great Heath, not far from the sea. Your critique is always welcome.

Horse, rider and rock are super-strong elements - fascinating, attention-grabbing! I'm curious if you've tried a less busy sky to keep focus on the subjects?

I tried other skies for colour rather than form Linda, I hadn’t thought of this one as distracting in that way but I see your point. I have plenty of sunset skies to choose from but they do tend to be rather dramatic in form as well as colour. Must be something in my stock somewhere😏

A quick search tells me that the sunsets I take are highly reliant upon cloud form Linda! Came up with this as the simplest easily found - not sure why the whole thing has brightened but that's adjustable to taste. It does show up a couple of shortcomings but, again, they can be sorted. What do you think?

Hard to know for sure since it's so much brighter (and now the top of rock seems a bit sharper than should), but overall, I really really like the change Thank you, Dave!

Yep, that sharpness is something that would have to be addressed Linda - but I think I prefer it as was! Maybe just remove the orange ‘dot’ (more like a football!) over the left hand end of the rock.

I do not find the sky in your original photo distracting at all. Your second photo with a different sky is also nice, but it totally changes the mood. Again, both are extremely well done, but I prefer the drama and moodiness of your original post.
