I'll bet none of the shootings you mentioned, along with numerous others were committed by members of the NRA.

I would not dispute that the NRA probably serves a purpose in educating people in gun safety, and that many stupid gun deaths are by people who are not members of the NRA.
But what I find a bit irresponsible is the resistance from the NRA to do something about the gun problem in the US. Yes, there probably is a big mental health issue behind a lot of the senseless violence, but the 3 instances I mentioned are not likely the result of "mental health issues." I see them as "attitude" issues.

What I find irresponsible is how Robert Louis Singletary who shot the little girl and her father over a basketball in his yard was not in jail. He was charged in December with striking his girlfriend in the head with a sledgehammer, then holding her against her will until she cleaned up the evidence of the attack, and he had also been arrested in 2016 for assault with a deadly weapon.
You say that this is not likely the result of "mental health issues", but rather an "attitude". Wow, please elaborate as to what you would consider the mental heath category.
John, perhaps we'd find it interesting if you'd share your ideas on how to solve this problem.

I have done that ad nauseam on this forum many times. But in case you missed it, the US needs to put restrictions on certain types of firearms as to where and when they can legally be used (yes, I know, criminals won't abide by the law; but keeping them out of the hands of nutcases will help; and changing the firearm laws is NOT about criminals) and one has to change the attitude that ANY restrictions on firearms is the first step in removing ALL freedoms. America has WAY TOO MANY GUNS per citizen, especially considering that not every citizen even owns a gun. The 2A has been twisted and misinterpreted from its original intent to turn out a trigger-capable (access) and trigger-happy (attitude) society.
But that's just the take from a non-citizen who has no dog in the fight and doesn't understand The Constitution and the American way of life and freedoms, because I live in such a restricted society and shithole 3rd world country ruled by a socialist despot whom I have to bow down to each day.

Look up the studies that show the relationship between domestic abuse (perpetrators and victims) and gun violence.

I'll bet none of the shootings you mentioned, along with numerous others were committed by metric users ... sayin'
"Don't even think about going metric unless the NRA and Ginni Thomas get a cut!"
Is it because America loves guns or is it that our society is going to hell in a hand basket?

Won't argue that at all, but do you think Mr. Singletary who used a sledgehammer on his girlfriend and was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon in another case has mental health issues or just an attitude?

I have no way of knowing. Certainly, someone trained should have made an assessment.

Why is that a cop out?
You didn't answer the question. I asked if you thought it was a mental health issue or attitude. The key word in the question was "you", not someone else.
When you take the easy way out to avoid making a choice, that’s a cop-out.

I have no way of knowing is still my answer! I have no knowledge of the incident nor the circumstances. When I don't know, I say so.
