Wow! What a change in the last 50 years. When at Camp Pendleton, I spent quite a lot of time on that beach and in that community. It was a lazy little town and from the beach, you could see quiet neighborhoods lined on horizontal streets staircased on the hills. If you wanted a more lively experience you would head to Oceanside near the southern end of Pendleton.
Thanks for comments .. btw SC is not sleepy town anymore . It is so crowded with residents and tourists. It’s crazy! I’ve owned and run a hair salon there for 30 years and have seen extreme changes.
I love the rendering of colors in your photographs, Alicia. They have the perfect level of saturation and balance in the light and shadows, like a perfectly done HDR image.

Almost everywhere = near the ocean or tourist-ee.
