Just google it - 'camera clutch strap'. All will be answered. Some made by respectable names in the strap market.

I did an advanced Google search for recent UHH topics containing clutch or crutch

User name Crutch:

A clutch of bird eggs:

I think mwsilvers and John N have figured it out, though:

Perhaps the OP was discouraged by the unkind comments and decided not to return.

I can offer these two examples.
However, I think the hand strap may be closer to what the OP hinted about.

Clutch maybe mentioned by the OP in relation to the Olympus m43 pro lenses that have a 'clutch' ring that is a push/pull function to enable the shooter to switch between auto focus and manual focus. It can be a very useful feature in certain shooting situations.

Many Olympus M43 Pro lenses have a "clutch" mechanism on the lens barrel activated by sliding the focus ring forward and back. It switches between autofocus and manual focus.

I have the same question. With respect to the post about car thieves removing a fender to get to car wiring to activate electric door locks, ignition, etc. to steal a car, how would a clutch thwart a thief?

bcheary posted the answer: "Most of the kids today wouldn't know how to use it! "

With this mystery finally solved, I will sleep much better tonight.
