If we are critiquing the photo (as in pose, set-up, etc) can I, as a non-gunny, ask if the extra mags actually fit the weapon she is brandishing?

Hi John,

She carrying a H&K MP-5 9mm, but the magazines in chest rig are for an AR-15 5.56. So they won't fit the gun.

I asked because even I didn't think they were a match.

Actually there are other rifles that use those magazines thus I just said 5.56.
And more likely .223. Not many civilian rifles are chambered for the 5.56 which is slightly different than the more common .223.
Most ARs are. 223.

Isn't that a horrible shame? Gorgeous girl, except...

As one of my contemporary would say, "Good technique. But muddled message."

Strange background for such an image.

Yes, Paul, lots of things wrong with this image. But it was not posted for critique of the photography. It belongs in The Attic. And given that Attic participation requires an opt-in choice I am not sure it needed to be in this Section of UHH.

OK then. Poor planning on the part of the photographer.

Maybe not poor planning at all John. She probably did not want to be photographed holding two firearms when the one displayed is pretty much an excellent choice, the H&K MP5, one of the very best submachine guns ever made. I suspect she has easy access to an AR platform rifle IF she needs it. I am happy to let her use one of mine.

In Vietnam I traded for a Sweedish K (also a great machine gun). Carried it for a couple months and finally took it to the range to see how it shot. Dang thing had a broken firing pin and couldn't fire a single shot. That would have done me a lot of good if we had been shot down while carrying it.

What does it say about you if you didn't test the weapon for months???

Many of our pilots, CH-46A, used the Swedish K as well. It was a very well liked submachine and small in size as I recall. I had the opportunity to trade a pair of pilot's sunglasses for a very well used French Mat-49 submachine gun but never did have a chance to fire it. Many people put French guns down but that was a very popular gun in its day and well thought of.

Gun control means using both hands.

No that's incorrect. Gun control is hitting what you are aiming at. Lol
