Last one i'll post in regard to this for awhile unless there is a specific request.

This is shot 485 out of the camera.

Nikon 50mm 1.8 attached

F/22, 1 second exposure

you might find some, but at least in my case a blower seems to be limiting it much more than elsewhere on the web. Furthermore, these are all at F/22.... who really shoots a 50mm 1.8 at f/22?

Wow! Assuming that the numbering scheme is consecutive and there are no breaks in the assignment of the numbers, then yours is 46,963 units later production than mine- that is a whole lot of cameras. Bet (hope) Nikon corrected the problem before then. Wishing you good luck Stef because the D600 excepting the spot problem is a great camera.

Thank you much! Where did you buy yours? I bought mine from Best Buy and have up to 30 days to return..

Bought mine (body only) from B&H Just after it was released. B&H also has a 30 day return policy and I could have returned it but the problem was already being reported by others and I felt that I might just get another bad one if I simply returned it so I elected to return it to Nikon instead. My hope was they probably by that time knew what the problem was and in addition to being cleaned would be repaired. As I said earlier, their repair order stated that parts were replaced so it appears that was a good decision- I sure hope so because otherwise I love this camera.

I downloaded the F11 shot and found about 10 total. 2 more at the bottom and a few more on the right side of the frame. Here's 4 I found close together.

Thanks. If they haven't fixed the problem by then the D600 may be a collectors item. Nikon will have announced a brand new camera: the D600ni. The "ni" stands for "new and improved". ;)

Are these crops? What about the one I just posted this morning? Also, how significantly did you reduce the exposure.

My point int his entire project was that in 99% of real life shooting situations, it's not a problem at all. And it's fixable.

That sucks! I had several of the big spots your latest photo shows. But I had many more of the smaller spots. Mine were mainly top left though they were all along the left side- top to bottom after >1000 shots.
Bret, sorry, I may have missed it, have you posted your serial number?

The 4 group is a crop....changed the contrast only....I don't have an editor/illustrator type program. Your right...may not be a problem at all....but they seem to get worse over time. This was from the last group Stef you posted after cleaning I think.

As you can see in the upper left, there are two small spots. I don't believe it's oil as has been reported though, just some dust. I'm going to blow it out and repost at same apertures.

There is some spots in the upper right also.
