Using <quote reply> is a much better way to engage in a discussion, especially when responding with a follow-up question. Google with the available information (google roberts camera Indianapolis) is more than enough detail to find this widely know, highly regarded camera store.

As another person suggested, Aithorized Camera Repair in PA. They saved my canon 24-70L lens.
Masters at what they do. I would call them up and ask.

If you mean Authorized Camera Repair, that is their full name. Bing or Google the name to get the web site. They are located in Willow Grove PA.

Ok...let's focus on the Original Post.

Thank you...

Robert’s Photo is at

220 East Saint Clair Street,
Indianapolis, IN

{I got all this from a recent advertisement from them}. You could contact them, but if Canon couldn’t come up with parts, the only thing for someone like KEH or Robert’s to do would be to take apart a working camera. Why not simply purchase the ‘donor’ camera?

When we moved roughly ten years ago, I accidentally behind the Kodak “Duaflex” which my Dad had given me when I was in high school - he had used it to photograph me when I was an infant. Later, I talked about getting another one, from eBay, but my wife asked the very reasonable question “why - you would always know it wasn’t the same camera. Sentiment can’t be transferred”.

Is an SX50 actually worth repairing? Have you looked for another one? The cost of repair may exceed the cost of a replacement camera. I have no idea what a Canon ZX50 is. The only Canon ZX devices I'm familiar with are calculator/organizers.

The best independent repair shop I've found is Authorized Camera Repair in Willow Grove PA. Check out their web site. I've done business with them for years and they are really good and honest.

I agree, check with Authorized Camera Repair: http://www.authorizedcamerarepair.com/
If they cant repair it, it may not be able to be repaired by any repair shop. And any repair may cost more than a good used one.

Cheers
