Does anyone have a recommendation for photo editing software?

These are two software programs I would suggest...Affinity Photo and Silky Pix Pro 11. Affinity Photo is less expensive of the two. If you want an-all-in-one program then Silky Pix Pro 11 is darn good.

If all you need is to fix some blurry or faded photos, I would be glad to do them for you.. no charge. It is what I do as a hobby. I can do a good job with JPGs.If you are not satisfied with them, nothing lost. It would be as easy as you scanning and emailing. PM me if you are interested.

I have several of the mentioned software and the learning curve will frustrate you to no end. I would hope you will take up SODAPOP's offer. Print out the pictures that you want fixed. Circle the objects that you want removed so that there is no confusion, and scan the pictures so that you can send them to sodapop so he can see the circles. Send him the jpgs to alter. If your happy with his work and you will be happier than the frustration you will experience. And you can make another friend from HHH.

Before I begin my question, I have checked the search feature on UHH.

I am looking for software that can edit photographs. I have several photographs that were given to me. Since they were not taken by me, I had little control over the photograph or the photographer.
I have a website for my Charitable Foundation. Some photos are blurry and some have artifacts that I wish to remove. Some group photos have people who “photo-bombed” and I would like to remove them if possible. Does anyone have recommendations?

I'd rather give you a list of programs to try than give my opinion.
https://mailchimp.com/resources/free-photo-editing-software/

Krita. You'll have advanced photo editing capabilities when you use Krita, made for Windows, Linux, and Apple desktops. ...
inPixio Photo Editor. ...
Artweaver Free. ...
PhotoScape. ...
Paint.Net. ...
GIMP. ...
Adobe Photoshop Express. ...
PhotoDirector Essential.....

Explore and then report back what you chose, if any, and why you went with it.

It is unfathomable what probably 80% of the replies here have to say. Either they have not read the OP's and your posts, or they have a comprehension problem - or both - and this same condition is evident for most things on UHH, unfortunately. I don't know whether the OP has taken advantage of your generous offer yet, but he should, and just ignore all those pushing their favorite software programs, and/or posing as "experts", regardless of his stated requirements and wishes.

Loren my man, how long have you been on UHH? This surprises you? Yes most don't read prior posts before replying. And people love to give their opinions even if it has already been said. Call it crowd voting.

Life is short, enjoy it, have fun!

I'm into my eighth year here, and since long ago there are no surprises to be had. As a matter of fact, it has been for many, many years that the lack of intelligence demonstrated/applied by the general populace has been appalling. However, I do take it for what it is, but like to comment once in a while (to no effect! - and I realize that will be the predictable outcome). Also, over 95 years, I have had fun, and continue to do so!

At 5 pages of responses, I suspect he is overwhelmed.
Or perhaps he is trying things out in the background.

At any rate, he has suggestions and it is not our place to push him one way or another.

My amateur suggestion : first made a duplicate of the photo you are editing . Second find and try one edit software that come for free . Just to have a ride . Than buy one at your choice . Best Angelo's regard

Your suggestion is good.

I will add, when testing software it’s good to make a folder, call it Test, then copy some images into that folder. Use that folder to test softwares. Then when done flush the Test folder.

Implied, I believe, though not said specifically, test all image processing software on the same images, the variety of which should represent all reasonably anticipated challenges.

This is what frustrates me the most when I follow a posting on any forum. The OP does not follow up with a response of what worked or NOT. Most of us just want to know.
