None of us will eat a peach and view the peach-pit the same way. Actually my bet is that few of use ever really looked hard at them before trashing the fruit is so enjoyable.

Sippy, With all the couture and cavities your image has shown us, I can now understand how the fruit clings to the pit.

Don't think I have seen one quite that close up before. Great detail.

Beautiful image! As usual. That Novoflex bellows is a beautiful piece of kit too.

Thanks, Dpullum. At times, things are peachy. At other times, it's the pits..!

Thanks, Randave2001. I enjoy seeing the common things around us under magnification.

Thanks, Robert. It is a vintage lens and bellows (a flattering term for being old). They are a testament to German engineering and production and they are frequently available on eBay.

Thanks, Dennis. As strange as the universe is, I would not be surprised to learn that peach pits are floating in space from a planet that exploded eons ago and can populate a friendly planet with peach trees when they happen to land on them.

The Better Half enjoys fresh fruit and this is all that remains of one of her peaches so rather than throw it away, it has been added as a treasure in my box of collectibles of odds and ends that I come across.

This session was staged using a Novoflex Macro Auto-Bellows lens set at f/5.6 and extended on bellows to a distance to fill the frame with the subject.

Great macro! How many exposures did you use?
