I did not notice where you said whether the camera worked on its own WITHOUT the motor drive. For what you paid for it the price still isn't bad providing the camera works by itself. If not you could list it on ebay for a parts camera. Good luck with whatever happens.

But it will still look good on the shelf. Keep it dusted.

Try Garry's Camera in Illinois. He's done a lot of CLAs on everything from Minoltas to Nikons. Pretty reasonable.

This camera is not worth investing $$ in repairs. As a $34 dollar camera it would have been great. Either I’ll get lucky (very extremely lucky) and figure out its repair or I’ll sell it for parts. The lens and the winder “might” get my money back … maybe. I have a first gen Canon Rebel and a Nikon 5005 to shoot 35mm with so this was just a lark. 🤷🏻‍♂️

OM-1 and OM-2. Took them both with me to Zagreb in 1976. Came back in 1980. Resurected last year, blew a little dust off them. Both still work quite well. No issues.

Used the OM 1, 2 & 4 for years. When I sold them to switch to AF Nikon 8008, the buyer said, "You're getting rid of the wrong one." Nope, though I do miss that Olympus 40mm, mostly because it cost me $75 new and now is worth 10 times that, even more than a 40mm CL Summicron. Worth more, not better.

Made the mistake of walking into a thrift store after using its parking lot. One lonely little camera was on the shelf, an Olympus OM 10 with its 50mm kit lens and a power winder. I need another camera like a hole in the head, but the lady offered it to me for 50% off, and so I walked out $34 poorer and one camera richer. All the controls seem to work just fine. I gave it a quick microfiber once over and used lens wipes on the glass, DL’d the manual and read through it, and loaded a fresh roll of HP5. Going to take a street walk this morning and see what develops. 🙄

If it is a working camera, for $34 you are a winner. And even if it is not working, $34 is not much of a loss. You might even be able to recover the money by selling it to Keh, B&H, or Adorama if necessary. Congratulations on the find.

I too am a sucker for cameras in a thrift store. I have over 30 in my collection. I have them in a display cabinet in the corner of my home office. I have also bought a couple of lenses that turned out to be hung up and are just paper weights.

Check out the many film-oriented channels on YouTube. Karin Majoka, Lucy Lumen's Analog Adventures, Pushing Film, and Ribsy are a few I've watched recently. There are hundreds...

My own interest is in digitizing old film, not using new film, but more power to you if you like the stuff. $34 for the camera is a deal, even if it needs a CLA (cleaning, lubrication, adjustment).
