Will it be the least watched final in NCAA history?

At least the modern tournament (since expanding to the 72-team format). Has there ever been a final 4 that had no 1,2, or 3 seeds left? Because there is no powerhouse left for the final game will a lot of people not watch? The one redeeming aspect is that it is East Coast vs. West Coast so that could draw some interest. I plan to watch but I haven't seen the enthusiasm for this game that is usually generated. Connecticut could be considered a powerhouse since they will be competing for a 5th national championship but they still don't have the national appreciation like Kentucky, Indiana, North Carolina, Duke, UCLA, and a few other schools have.

Good point. I’ll probably watch because, well, IT’S THE FINAL FOUR!! It might have been more interesting if FAU and SDS met in the finals.

The FAU/SDS game would have been a great finals game, (if you were rooting for San Diego!). I had wanted FAU since I lived near their campus when a Florida resident in the '70's; could feel their heartbreak to lose it AFTER the final buzzer, having lead most of the game. Now, I'll be rooting for San Diego. UConn bores me with their greatness...

I never watch sports. I realized after I left high school that if I don't know the players on the field it doesn't interest me.

Yes, the only time two Florida schools have been in the final 4 and neither one made it to the final game. I would have liked to see two Florida teams go against each other in the final game.

Well, being from CT, and a UConn alum, I thought it was awesome! 😊

Well…. I think you’re in the minority. This morning it’s being reported that both the women’s and men’s game had very high viewership. I suggest that you just haven’t been paying attention.

Any sport that can score over 100 points is either too easy or needs to have its scoring system changed.

How about golf? Most players cannot score below 100. Yes, I know it is usually not a team sport. I'm just "picking" on your generality.

How about bowling?😳
Or maybe you should watch darts matches…you start out at 301 and the first player to zero wins.

See, you didn't read my post! I said I would be watching but just threw out that since all the "big guns" were out of the tournament it might not have the draw of past tournaments. One interesting thing though: All sides of the country were represented in the two finals games. North - Iowa, South - LSU, East - Connecticut, West - San Diego State. Maybe since all of the country was involved in a final game, it boosted the ratings.

I think it is great to have lesser known teams pull upsets. I don't watch the NCAA tournaments to see popularity contests. I watch to see good play, and the older I get, the less I care which schools are playing. It was great to see those "popular" teams in past years, but that was because they were good teams, not because they were specific schools, *unless* you were a fan of one of those schools.

Heck, this year, the women's tournament was more interesting than the men's... especially the Final Four game between Iowa State and University of South Carolina. Watching Caitlin Clark when she is "on" is a bit like watching Stephen Curry when he was "in the zone" at Davidson. Conversely, the final Iowa State vs LSU game was marred by crappy officiating. I hate it when it looks like refs are making it about themselves.
