Creating photo mosaics

Hi folks,
I'm in the process of putting individual photo albums together for each of my three granddaughters and thought it'd be cool to have a mosaic of each of them made up with all of the individual photos included in their personal albums
serving as tiles. I remember playing with that feature in an early version (maybe 2 decades ago) of Photoshop that I no longer have.
Am wondering if anyone has created photo mosaics recently with software other than Photoshop (too expensive) that is easier to use and resulted in decent end products?
Thanks!
Ed

What's your price range? And, by mosaic, do you mean lots of images on a single sheet?

Or, a picture built from many other pictures?

Sounds to me like he's referring to a pile of images arranged on a page by predominant color, so that they form a secondary image.
It's nice when all the images are of the person shown by the secondary image.

Is it possible something like Posterino is what you are looking for?

https://secure.zykloid.com/posterino

Or some other photo collage software package?

I use Andrea Mosaic (free) and it works great for me.
It does have a built-in tutorial or you may use the many (I prefer) YouTube Vids at: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=andreamosaic+tutorial
Downloads: http://www.andreaplanet.com/andreamosaic/download/

In the past, I have used "Artensoft Photo Mosaic Wizard," but haven't touched it in years. Cost about $50.00. In addition to the program, it came with thousands of little-bitty images, of various genres and colors used to make the mosaic. While the results were interesting, I think the reason I stopped using it was that it took hours on the computer just to generate one image.

Try andreamosaic. It's a free website where you can create your own mosaics.

Just returned from a short trip and am amazed at how many of you took your time to respnd to my query.

Maybe I should have mentioned that I'm a PC user, not Mac, and will definitely take a look at programs designed to work on that platform. As for cost, haven't really considered Photoshop because as I recall
the program back at the turn of the century was in excess of $500 or $600. Plus it was way too labor intensive and trying to figure out how to use everything it offered was like going down a rabbit hole.

Anyway, I will check out your suggestions and see if something will enable me to create the mosaics I'm thinking about producing.

Thanks again everybody!

Currently, Photoshop runs about $10 per month, and I suspect you could discontinue any time you want by canceling the credit card used for payment.

Good point Sam. I'll look into it as an option.
