I saw this abandoned granary the other day. The railroad tracks have long since been removed and it just sits there now. If you enlarge it you will see where someone has been using the upper level for target practice, still some arrows in the wood, but the don't look like they were original equipment! LOL
Shot with a Sigma 20mm F1.8 lens on a Nikon D800 body. No PP except to resize for posting.

Great shot MT.
I'm scratching my head as to why someone would shoot arrows into an inaccessible place???

Just LOVE that picture and the camera.
A couple of stupid questions though.
Were the railroad tracks behind the elevator (in that lean-to) or in the front where that snorkel is hanging?
Also, approximately where is the elevator located?

I like to play Dick Tracy on abandoned railroad beds. Yes, I need help, I admit. But I enjoy it.
I'll bet you love that new camera.

Great shot - You're lucky to have old empty wooden buildings around. If that was in the UK it would just be a pile of ash by now.

The lean-to is where the grain trucks came to dump their grain. The railroad tracks were at the right, the snorkel was the means of loading the grain into the rail cars for transport.
This elevator is located about 8 miles West of Musselshell, Montana along the abandoned route of the old Milwaukee Railroad. Their route through central Montana was abandoned back in the 1980's and all their track was removed for salvage. Several old elevators remain along this route, but almost all of them are in existing towns, this one sits out on a farm in the middle of no place pretty much, but I think there must have been a small community there at one time as there is another building nearby that looks as if it may have been a general store.

Wow ... that 20mm really allows for a great perspective on a structure like that. At first glance at this I thought "Is MT experimenting with HDR?" Excellant color and detail! (You said no PP, but you might want to PP out that tiny little shiny new pickup waaaaaay back there ... just ever so slightly out of place in this shot).

Here is a repost without the truck or power lines. I also did a quick color correct in an attempt to emulate evening sunlight colors. The original was taken under mid-day sunlight and is pretty harsh.

MT Shooter, sorry, but I like the original better. Just my humble opinion, but I like pictures as originally taken if at all possible and with the least amount of photo editing. :)

OK MT-shooter would you share the secret to how you prepped for the shot, I too have a 20mm and have not taken anything worth keeping and most certainly nothing worthy of posting, I'm wondering if you were laying on the ground.... though it appears you are a little higher, kneeling down maybe? I'm still trying to get the hang of the lens and any help is greatly appreciated.
