Great find you can get a F3 on eBay for about 300-350 in excellent condition so half price after 40 years isn’t bad

I bought an F3HP body in late 1982 for $460 at the local camera store. Sears prices were higher.

Kmart but it didn't work out and they ended up filing for bankruptcy within a year after that and closing all their stores Walmart was the one that caused that. And reason Sears ended up closing stores was it couldn't compete with the internet and Amazon and stores like Best Buy, Lowes, and Home Depot on appliance sales.



I can tell you what caused Kmart's demise. I ran a camera dept for them for 13 years. Kmart was trying so hard to overtake Sears as the number one retailer, that they failed to see WaiMart gaining from behind. This came about because Kmart grew from the inner city to the suburbs. Walmart started in rural locations and moved into the cities.
Kmart never saw them in the rear view mirror.
