A lot of trees lined the shores of the Columbia River's western reaches but look at all the wood atop the ridge above the cliffs!

The three evergreens are nice but look at all those leafless aspens beyond the beginner area.

There was a photo mural on the wall of our hotel in Charlotte, SC. We decided we had to see it in person so we did. The Angel Oak was between 300 to 400 years old. I can't remember if this was a 6 or 8 shot panorama to get it all in

Here's mine. The Medusa of oaks. It's been struck by lightning, and scorched in it long life.

This tree was growing at the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park in Colorado. A few weeks after we visited, there was a terrible fire (2013) and 90% of the park was destroyed. I have often wondered if this tree is still standing. Stunted and twisted by the wind, I hope it survived.
