Actually, I did something similar one time. I offered to take a shot for some tourists, using their camera. However, their camera was actually a cell phone, and was different than my camera/phone. So, I tried to take the picture without success, until they laughingly informed me that I was holding it wrong ... lens towards me instead of them. (I'm sure they were thinking "Stupido Americano.)
My ex-wife would get me to do the same when on vacation as a favor to other people not realizing every camera is different. Usually not hard to figure out with the average P/S set on full auto. But then I start looking at composition and lighting and moving people around for a better background. Then one of the subjects would snatch the camera back and say never mind. :lol:
