They're hot on the auction blocks right now! I've owned a couple in the past and presently have an "almost P.U.", a 1970 El Camino. Nice examples in your post.

Beautiful images. When seeing some of those I wonder what the original owner would think if he/she could see it now.

Those "new" El Comino's and Ranchero's are nice and in demand as well I reckon.

I imagine they'd be quite proud, or jealous, or both.
I know I'm enjoying the photo's.

Unfortunately, the El Comino's and Ranchero's, exclusive of the very early years, have lagged behind their passenger car equivalents in value. However, recently Pickups of any year and make have have soared in value at the auctions and this has trickled down into all sales.

I'm not up on all that stuff, but, as an old time mechanic from the early 60's, I know my current "new" truck, a 2001 GMC 4 wheeler, with off road and towing package is pretty much an electricians nightmare to work on. A mouse got into it last year and the amount of electronic gadgetry packed into this thing is amazing. Besides being beautiful, old iron is simple to repair, although repair is what they always need. New stuff seems to last forever but repair requires lots of expensive tools and I reckon different skills than the old, old stuff.

I've always loved Pick ups. My first car was a '49 Dodge PU.

I had a '52 Ford. It didn't take long for me to learn to avoid following too closely in construction zones. That grill does little to protect the radiator.
