into "The Star Spangled Banner" was (and is) one of my all-time favorites. It was a great time in my life and evokes great memories. What a talent and what a shame. So young.

I was lucky enough to see Jimi live at the Baltimore Civic Center. What a showman!

At one time, the Northwestern football team was known as the Purple Haze. This caused Michigan fans to refer to the Wolverines as the Maize Haze, and ofc, to the team from the south as the Woody Haze. True story.

One of my favorites, too. His playing ability has been an inspiration for many of today's greats.

From a rock / blues perspective, I think Jimi was only surpassed by Stevie Ray Vaughan, who also died wayyy too early.

Jimi belongs to the ages. Played a right-handed guitar upside down which was special in its own way.

A great version of Voodoo Child. The drummer is really kickin ass too. Don't know whether that's still Mitch Mitchell or not. Looks like him.

My sister saw him in the 60’s at Jacksonville FL. He was the opening act for the Monkey’s. WTH?
