Yeah, mike. It was great. I also took way too many pics. Or did I? The answer is no. However, it is taking forever to process through them What about culling? Nope. I couldn't do it except for the blurry ones.

Actually, the whales came to us. Back on February 25, we left for Guerrero Negro, Mexico, which is on the Baha peninsula in Mexico. We spent about weeks down there on a whale watching tour. Our stay involved living in thin, plywood Quonset huts (some guests preferred to stay in tents) which were actually quite comfortable despite the cool temperatures that averaged about 57f during the day (about -100c for our metric friends).

I have to tell you... It was an absolutely amazing experience! Even though we were looking forward to the trip for several months, Neither my wife nor myself expected such intensity and excitement.

We stayed right on the edge of a vast lagoon which is the mating and birthing place of the Grey Whale. These are baleen whales which grow to about 49 feet in length and can weigh up to about 44 tons ( I have no idea what the metric equivalent is). The also have a heart shaped, 2 nostril blow hole which I understand to be rather unique amongst whales.

We went out twice a day deep into the lagoon and had at it with the whales. They would come right up to our boats and even allow us to pet them. Some people actually kissed them. Most of us were just as happy photographing and filming them.

So, with that being said, Enjoy! I will probably add a couple of more posts of our trip. I will try not to bore you.
Actually, the whales came to us. Back on February... (show quote)

Absolutely great pictures. I love the one with the whales eye looking at you. Seems to be saying, I wonder what that would taste like?
