This is for us older folks. I get stuff like this every day from the American Legion. Kind of interesting, I think. How about you?
Some really fascinating pics. Thanks for sharing.
Were men’s waists that much higher in that era? Those automobiles were huge! I guess the depression didn’t touch some people.

https://www.nytimes.com/2005/09/04/automobiles/a-rhinestone-cowboy-who-grabbed-cars-by-the-horns.htmlIn the effort of finding the car with the .45 Colts on the front fenders of a Westerns cowboy star I saw a few decades ago, I came across this tidbit that may be of interest to some.
If I could recall which star it was, I might be able to find a photo of it. I think it may have been Lash Larue's. But as the above noted article, there have been quite a few modified cars out there for the stars.
Thanks for putting up the shots. Very interesting and enjoyed.
This was really fascinating.

Stephan, the car you're referring to is Roy Roger's. We went to visit our friends in in the late 80's in Apple Valley Cal. (in the desert). We hadn't seen them in years and long story short, our friend Judy worked for the Chamber of Commerce in neighboring Victorville and asked if we'd like to see the Roy Roger's Museum! She knew Roy and Dale and called over to see if they would meet us. Unfortunately, they were out of town. This was a thrill of a lifetime for me! I had no idea it was even in the area! I was a big fan as a kid. What kid my age (74) wasn't?!! We toured the museum and I saw the car that you're referring to. I'm not going to look through my photos, but I found some pics here for you. I hope you enjoy them...AND Happy Trails to you...

I appreciate your follow up. However, the vehicle I saw was, I think, a Cadillac. I remember seeing Roy Roger's Bonneville in a magazine years ago. As stated in the article I attached above, Nudie Cohen did several vehicles. Where I saw the Cadillac, it was at an auction house in Atlanta. The auctioneer referred to Lash Larue when we were conversing.
Nellybelle, the jeep, was a favorite "clown" car in the Roger's Stable.
Again thank you.
I remember reading about Trigger, Buttermilk, and Bullet being "stuffed" for the Rogers. Sad that the museum sort fell apart.
PS., Roy Roger's show was one of the several TV shows that helped this newcomer to the USA to work out the kinks of the English language.

I couldn't access your link Stephan. Every time I tried to open it a large advertisement covered up the article, so I wasn't able to see it. Oh well.
