What a lovely place! I think I could spend a lot of time (and frames) there! Your images are great, as usual.

L’Auberge Chanteclair nestles in the Franschhoek valley with panoramic views of the vineyards, mountains and valley. The four bedroom Victorian farmhouse is set in wonderful landscaped gardens and in a working vineyard. We stayed there for three nights, with lovely breakfasts served on the patio.

The clouds were amazing and constantly changing.

The glass of wine was from the vineyard.

Beautiful set Sylvia. Any plans to visit other parts of South Africa on this visit, such as the Knysna Elephant Park?
regards, Garth

I am in he process of reading a novel by James Michener titled "The Covenant" that delves into the History of South Africa. It starts out with the nomadic tribes that roamed the area followed by the establishment of a permanent settlement on the Cape by the Dutch East India Company as a stop-over by that Company's ships headed for the Spice Islands, India, Japan and China. The story paints a rather harsh picture of the early Dutch influence on the people and the land. The author then delves into arrival of the banished Huguenots who brought with them grape vines secreted out of France and the establishment of a thriving wine business that continues to this day.
