Nice. We put bird seed on the front lawn occasionally, and we get all the wildlife in stages - birds, squirrels, turkeys, deer, and bears. They generally don't mix, except for the birds and squirrels.

Black bears are common in many places in this country, including Upstate New York where Jerry lives. The state with the most bears per square mile is New Jersey. They are common in the mountainous areas of California where I live. One of them got into my garbage one night and spread it all over the road in front of my house. It chewed up a pressurized whipped cream can. My wife called it the "huffing bear" because the gas in those things is nitrous oxide. Black bears are not as dangerous as Grizzlies. They generally don't attack people unless you get too close to their cubs. At Lake Tahoe, it is common for bears to break into homes looking for food.
