I don't understand why you're being snarky. People are trying to help you out and you're responding like an impetuous jackass. Call Sony support, or just figure it out yourself. And take a chill pill.

Really, a impetuous jackass. It is frustrating that people don't read. I was clear on the issue, what firmware was on the camera, and what I tried. Some of the help was not helpful at all.
You certainly did not have to be so rude & call me a jackass. Maybe you are the one who is the jackass.

Through the years that I have been on this forum I have noticed two things. People don't read the threads, they just comment even though the answer was given numerous times before. And two there are a bunch of thin skinned keyboard warriors that get their panties in a wad over any comment made. Your reply was not snarky. You were simply trying to explain what you did and what you know. I see nothing nothing snarking about that.

Thank you very much for your comment. I completely agree with what you wrote.

Battery is fully charged, camera is not hot, memory card was removed correctly. I removed both SD cards and used a different one. This is my 3rd full frame Sony. There is no CF card in this camera, only SD cards.

I did not just update the firmware to 1.10. I always reformate the card.

This is NOT my first time updating firmware. I clearly know exactly what I am doing.
I was NIKON user before selling all my full frame (2 ) cameras and lenses. I have updated firmware before.

Not being snarky but one time I forgot to pull the upgrade out of the zipped folder. If that was done, pulled out, then yes, it seems odd it will not read it.

I am on a windows laptop. When I download the firmware update, it doesn't appear to be in a zipped folder. I did try as per your suggestion.

Thank you, that was helpful.

Beyond me then, that is my limit of technical things.

Roni,
Stay on this. I just noticed I am on version 1.10. I will try today to change my version also. But after reading the update, I'm not sure it is important enough to go through the aggravation. I have a Sony seminar tomorrow at B & C camera, and I will ask about the update.

Be sure that you are using the Sony cord for the update. Many aftermarket cords do not work.

Tomorrow’s seminar also includes an update service! I will try to watch and let you know what they did. Perhaps I will be able to show your problem and get an answer. Depends how crowded it gets.

I guess when you get to the update menu it doesn't ask you to update isn't that correct?

The *update* is greyed out.
All the directions for this camera instruct to use SD cards. I tried to Google if I could update using computer. Couldn't find an answer.
