Rainy day challenge for me. Had a large black round plastic pan about one inch deep. Set the rocks and candles in the pan and filled with water. Set up two speed lights one on each side with an orange gell for a warmer look shooting through a cheep white umbrella. Added the ripples with Flood 2 software. Added a small amount of fog/mist with a cloud brush. If I had a smaller rock I would have added it for a better zen look about it.

Nice!! I just ordered a pan to put into my bird bath; it may get a different use before it gets out to the bird bath. Thanks for the idea.

Here is another way I tried to do this. I have a 24 x 24" sheet of black plastic I got on amazon. Put the plastic on a small table then laid out the rocks and candles. I used a cooking baster full of water to spread the water over and around the items. When I got ready to shoot I shook the plastic just a touch creating the ripples.
I also changed my lens to a telephoto and shot further away at f/7.6 for more depth of field.
Not sure what one I like better.
I thought if you don't have the black plastic an alternative might be a piece of black foam core wrapped in Kitchen Saran Plastic Wrap, should keep the foam core dry and get some reflections.
The first one is meditation picture. I will probably spend some time just looking at it while I contemplate the whichness of the way
