Stores near me don't seem to have the Cross pen refills
I got a 2-pack of 8513-2 Cross refills (OE, not a knockoff) via Amazon Prime; cost was $9.96 when I ordered them in June 2018
During my years teaching I found my good pens sprouted feet and ran away when I wasn't at my desk so I tried a bunch, Pilots were the ones I settled on. Pilot G2 clicker type with gel ink for writing and Pilot Precise 5 pull off the cap style in extra fine point for entries in those tiny boxes in the grade/roll book.
Yeah, I started in the days of paper only and thebn for several years the computer roll book was optional, but you had to keep the paper one also. Then the computer roll book was required for attendance and grades, but you also had to do the paper one for a couple of years for substitute teachers to use (no computer password for them) and a backup if the school district system or any part of it crashed.
Then my last few years the subs were given passwords, unless you said NO!, so you kept a paper one for them to mark attendance, then you transferred it.
Long way of saying I used a lot of Pilot pens, and over the years only a very rare one failed on me. Usually what happened before I ran out of ink was one got dropped to land on the extended point and then they jammed, leaked or both.

Just wondering if anyone has found a decent ballpoint pen? I have bought several from Costco and Walmart and I have never found one that in dependable. You would think someone could make a pen that works it is so frustrating to be in the middle of filling out a document and it stops laying down ink.
I love youse, cross pens, almost all my life. I never failed me.

Very hard to beat the old Bic Cristal. Super reliable, even in low outdoor temps, and ya can't beat the price.
I always carry a pen with me and have found the Zebra brand works fairly well in most situations. They are low in cost and available almost everywhere. I even found a shorty version on Amazon that is only about 4 inches long which makes it easier to carry in pockets.
However, I have noticed that I have had problems writing with any type of pen lately. I am wondering if something in the paper composition has been changed. The pen starts and stops writing but is full of ink and works on other papers OK. The pens seem to work fine on the notebook and printer paper.

I use and like the Zebra F.402 0.7mm and really like it. I believe I found it at Walmart.

I am not very particular about a pen. As long as it does what I need it to do. If I had to pick, I like the Rotring Core Series. They are not very expensive as each run about $45-$55 per pen. You can buy them in certain stationary stores and on line. The company discontinued this series.
$45-$55 is not very expensive????? Glad you have so much money!!!!!

I love the Pilot Extra Fine 0.5mm blue ink! They are so smooth, and precise! They have a premium rolling ball point, and they last, and last! They have a tiny plastic cover on the point when brand new that must be removed before 1st use. Sooo smooth, and precise! You will love them!
Great pen, I like the Black
