These photos are great. I am curious why you think the horizon is off as there is nothing such as a lake that must be perfectly horizontal. My recollection of this area is that the landscape is often tilted and the original may well be the correct orientation. I surely would be happy to return to Utah to check it out!
Thanks, Ellen, in the one shot that was commented upon, I agree that the landscape went with the strata. You are, however, very correct that much of the appeal of the Utah geology comes from the upheavals and "topsy-turvy" appearance of many of our slopes. Come on back and check to be sure (LOL).
