His new wife is ok with this?

I have a question about using Photoshop. My son got married a number of years ago and we had a family picture done with his bride and my side of the family. Of course now he has gotten divorced and remarried. He asked me if there was a way to put his new wife's head in where his old wife's head was. (They pretty much have the same body style).
Does this involve making layers on the old photo and the new photo, along with making smart objects out of the new wifes head and how do you move it?

That’s a bit of a strange request by your son. His new wife will certainly want to know whose body her head is on when she sees the picture and will certainly not be pleased. Just do another family portrait.

ROFLMAO!!! You have the makings of a Seinfeld episode here. Good luck with that :-)
I agree with Nick and the other negative answers. Where possible, I've cropped ex-girlfriends out of grandsons' pix, and felt sad during the process!

That would depend on what there is from the head down in each case. 🤣
I watched a movie where Dr. Frankenstein tried changing body parts, including the head, and it did not work out well.😜

But his experiment was a success. You have to take the bad along with the good.
I bet Monster 2.0 would be a little better. Monster 1.0 turned out badly because Frankenstein hired cheap help.

I've done it twice as work and in both cases I totally removed the previous wife/bride. No woman would want her head on another "BRIDES" body!!!!!
As stated earlier, it involves layers but also lawyers I'm sure of that!

This is the very reason we had my sisters husband(s) stand at the end of any group photo. Scissors or matting, problem solved.
Bad idea, that can be done. I've put my g-kids on the moon, and another sitting on Washington in MT Rushmore. Several things, as first answer post. .

Think of the quote by Malcolm in the original Jurassic Park....Dr. Ian Malcolm : "Yeah, yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should."
and you remember how things turned out there. In other words....Run away.

You can't change history unless you do it before it's history.
In my stepdaughter's wedding, the groom's sister had a boyfriend. They broke up. I have lots of photos of the two of them from the wedding and there was one with all the bridesmaids and he was also in the photo. The sister wanted me to photoshop him out. I did it to preserve harmony in the family but my version of that photo still has him in it. Similarly, at our wedding the sister had a different boyfriend. It was a small wedding (18 people) so I got a photo of everyone in the group. She wanted the previous boyfriend removed also. Same thing: she got the edit, I kept the original. We (my wife and I) still see that boyfriend occasionally and are on good terms with his family.
If I were you, I would learn enough about Photoshop to do it. Then do it. Then delete it. In the process you will learn a skill. Maybe two skills: Photoshop and Diplomacy.
