My wife and I took a ride today to the Venice Rookery to see what, if anything, we could see. In short, we saw a lot of birds sitting on nests along with a lot of action and squawking by the little ones. Just a few shots from what I took to show what we saw. Enjoy the downloads and please don't be afraid to critique. I need all the help I can get.

Note: the light was ever changing from bright sun to cloudy ..... hard to get good shots without some overexposure.
Nikon 7100, Sigma 150-600 Contemporary, settings usually 1/1250-1/4000, f5.6 and f6.3, auto iso

Those egrets must have hatched within the past few days. I was there Thursday morning and they hadn’t hatched yet. Sadly I couldn’t make it back before leaving Florida, but I had some great luck at the Celery Fields in Sarasota and Circle B Bar in Lakeland.

Excellent set, Jim! I am guessing that you are not in Western Michigan now.
