We need advanced alien technology to tell us how to make printers. I just printed on several disks, and it would have made a good scene on a TV comedy.
I put the disk onto the tray and inserted the tray up to the line. At the computer, I clicked on Print. The printer immediately ejected the disk and made noises for twenty seconds. Then it told me to insert the disk. After inserting it up to the line, I had to tap the LCD to let the printer know the disk had been inserted. Then it made more noises as it moved the disk tray back and forth and finally printed. When printing was done, it ejected the disk. After removing it, I had to tap the LCD again to tell it that I had removed the disk and printing was complete.
That's when things work right. Sometimes, it's like the printer was out drinking all night, and it doesn't know what to do. When I began this printing session, I had to click on Cancel because it wasn't working right - just making noises and moving the tray in and out. It took about five minutes to Cancel as it continued to make noise. It printed seven beautiful disks, but it made me work for them.
The printer is a new Canon XP-970, but this could apply to any printer.
My printer won't print on disks, I use a Sharpie.

I've always liked being able to print on disks. I printed thousands(?) with an HP, but then it started acting up. I wanted to buy an ink tank disk printer, but...
I used to print on disks but now I don't use disks. Haven't figured out how to print on a flash drive.

Label maker - a modern person's must-have! I thought of labeling them, but I keep changing what's on them.
I label all the computer-related wires so I know where they're going.
