Ramses II's mortuary temple, known as Ramses the Great, King of Egypt, 1279–1213 bc.
He came to power about 55 years after the reign of Tutankhamun. Ramses set about restoring Egypt’s power by quelling rebellions in southern Syria and fighting the Hittites at the Battle of Kadesh. He reigned as king for 67 years and lived between 90 and 96 years while siring well over one hundred children.
Noted as one of Egypt's greatest builders.

Thank you for this. They're beautiful!
What did they use to carve with?

Great set of photos. Where was this old temple actually located ?? Did it have an official name ??

Location:
Via google plug in the word -- "Ramesseum" -- That should do it with maps --
Actually near Hatshepsut's Temple a couple of miles south of it but not nearly as crowded --
West side of the Nile near Thebes -- One of the reasons this complex is in so much needed repair which they are doing is that it's in the old Nile flood plane -- Plus quite a few Earthquakes
